Preserving Our Heritage Building our Future

Leith St Andrew’s Trust is a community-driven registered charity dedicated to preserving the historic Leith St Andrew’s Parish Church.  Our vision is to transform this iconic building into a thriving well-being activity centre and events space, open to everyone in the community.

Open meeting for new volunteers and Leith St. Andrew's Trust social

We’re hosting an informal meeting at Leith Library. This is a casual space for you to learn more about volunteering with Leith St. Andrew’s Trust and for us to learn what skills and interests you have or what experience you’re looking for. The meeting will last an hour and will be run by Daniel, a trustee at Leith St. Andrew’s Trust. There will be a chance to sign up as an official volunteer at the end of the meeting, but there’s no expectation that you have to commit by attending.

After the meeting, we’ll head along the road to the Persevere for a Leith St. Andrew’s Trust social evening, from 19.00.

Thank you for attending The Heart of a Community

The culmination of our local history project, made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, was a brilliant success, thanks to you. Over the course of six days, including our Friday Launch and our Panel Event, we welcomed more than 150 people through the doors of Leith St. Andrew’s to learn more about the building’s history and consider its future.

If you were one of those people, and you haven’t already done so, please fill in our feedback survey, linked below. This helps us to make future events even better and improves our chances of securing further funding.

Thank you for joining us on our first Open Day!

We hosted an open day at the church on Saturday 3rd August,  and welcomed everybody interested in the project to come and learn more about it.

We really loved getting feedback and input from individuals in our local community, as well as anybody from the wider Edinburgh area who showed up. There were stalls from lots of existing users of the church, Leith St. Andrew’s Trust of course, as well as a performance by Mary Phelan Dance School, live music and workshops from Access Parkour and Think Circus.
