Opportunities with Leith St. Andrew's Trust

Paid Opportunity

This opportunity is now closed. Thank you.

Experienced Researcher:
Leith St Andrew’s Trust has received funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund to deliver a local history project and is seeking bids from individuals and/or organisations to lead this work.

The successful bidder will lead on this project, researching the history of Leith St. Andrew’s Parish Church and the people who have been part of its community. They will carry out archival research and community engagement, drawing from a variety of sources including printed materials, and oral accounts. The successful bidder will record their findings in a format or formats that allow for publishing on this website, as well as in-person events and an exhibition held at Leith St. Andrew’s Parish Church itself. The use of a variety of media types (i.e. audio, photographic, video) is encouraged, as is a consideration for various accessibility needs, to ensure the results of the project can reach as many people as possible.

The project will culminate in a short programme of events and a public exhibition sharing the building’s history. The current congregation have recently put together a history wall in the church, with newspaper clippings, photos, orders of service and other memorabilia. We hope the project will build on this important work and capture even more of Leith St. Andrew’s diverse and central role in its community over its almost 150 year existence.
